How to get Started At Gracie Humaita Columbia

Women's Jiu-Jitsu Class

Step 1

Pick a class and Time

Trying a new workout can be scary and taking the first step is usually the toughest part. We’re here to walk you through the process step-by-step, starting with your first FREE class.  To start Fill out your information on the next page by clicking Here or on the “Get Started” Button at the top or bottom of this page.

Once you submit your information we will text you to answer any questions you have and help you pick the right class to start in.

Step 2

prepare for class

Once you have your class picked its important to be ready for class by following the guidelines below. Our classes are not overly intense but if you are new to working out they could be a little draining so its important to prepare properly.

Arive Early

Please arrive 10-15 min early and check in at the font desk so we can get you acquainted, answer any questions and sort out your uniform!

Athletic Clothing

Please wear athletic clothing. You’ll want to be able to freely move around the space with ease. If uniforms are required, you may purchase one at the club, or borrow one for your first class.

Hydration

Hydrate prior to class, and bring a water bottle with you. You’ll want to have it handy incase things get sweaty on the mat! We do have a water fountain but its always good to be hydrated ahead of time.

Be Proud

You’ve made the leap, and you’re now trying your first class. Pat yourself on the back, because this was the hardest step. Woo-hoo!

Step 3

Check in at the front desk & Enjoy your first class

Class structure may vary day to day, some days you might find yourself in a workout right off the bat and others may be more technically oriented, however you can always count on learning something new and getting a workout in the process.

Jiu Jitsu is a physical art and can be overwhelming for some their first few times out. Our coaching staff is there to ensure you have the best experience possible so please feel free to voice any concerns or hesitations before any starting exercise you feel uncomfortable with.

You will have a full week of free classes to try it out to see if you like it, after that if you want to continue we will help you pick the right plan for you!
